Privacy policy

What we collect through this site, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. Last updated 19 October 2026.

01Who we are

Original Goodness Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 69 679 363 378) runs www.ogaustralia.com, OGA's corporate and trade website. This policy covers the personal information we collect through this site, which is mostly trade enquiries from retailers, distributors and importers. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Buying from us online? The OGA shop has its own policy, covering orders, accounts and the shop's email: the OGA shop's privacy policy.

If anything here is unclear, email privacy@ogaustralia.com and we will sort it out.

02What we collect

  • When you send a trade enquiry: your name, company, email, phone number if you give it, where you sell, your country and region, the ranges you are interested in, and whatever you write in your message.
  • When you ask for the trade newsletter: the fact that you ticked the box, when you ticked it, and what the box said at the time.
  • When you email us: your email address and whatever you include.
  • When you browse: your IP address, device and browser, the pages you look at, and how you arrived.

We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health information. Please leave it out of your enquiry. If you do send it, we will use it only to answer you and then delete it.

03How we collect it

Mostly straight from you, when you fill in the enquiry form or send us an email. Some of it is collected automatically while you browse, through cookies and the services described under Cookies and analytics.

04Why we collect it

  • To answer your enquiry and work out whether, and how, we can supply you
  • To send the catalogues, pricing and product information you ask for
  • To manage our trading relationship if you become a stockist or distributor
  • To send the trade newsletter, if you have asked for it
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To keep the site secure and filter out spam
  • To keep the records the law requires

If you do not give us your name, company and email address, we cannot answer your enquiry. Everything else on the form is optional or helps us answer faster.

05The trade newsletter

We only add you to the trade newsletter if you tick the box on the enquiry form, and we answer your enquiry either way. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes within five working days at the outside.

We do not add trade contacts to our consumer mailing list. We do not sell personal information, and we do not swap or rent it.

06Cookies and analytics

  • Google Analytics measures how people use the site: which pages are viewed, where visitors arrive from, and when an enquiry is sent. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and device details. Google may process that information in the United States and other countries. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
  • Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the site's typefaces and some of its code. Your browser fetches those files from their servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. Neither sets cookies on this site.

We do not run Meta Pixel, Google Ads or any other advertising tracking on this site. If that changes, we will update this section before turning anything on.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.

07Who we share it with, and where it goes

We share personal information with the businesses that help us run this site and answer enquiries:

  • Netlify, which hosts the site and receives the enquiry form
  • Microsoft, which runs our email, where enquiries are delivered
  • Google, for the analytics and fonts described above
  • Visual Lab, the agency that builds and looks after this site, which receives a copy of enquiries to check the form is working
  • The email service we use to send the trade newsletter, if you have asked for it

We also disclose information where the law requires it, and would disclose it to a buyer if we ever sold the business.

Some of this information is stored outside Australia, mainly in the United States. Before we send personal information to a business outside Australia we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, normally through a written contract. If you want the current list of providers and the countries they operate in, email us and we will send it.

08Keeping it safe

Only the people who need your enquiry to do their job can see it. The site runs over an encrypted connection, and the enquiry form is screened for spam. Our providers publish their own security practices, which we review when we choose them but do not control.

No website is completely secure, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong and your information is caught up in it, we will tell you what happened, what it means for you and what to do about it.

09How long we keep it

If you become a stockist or distributor, we keep your details as business records for as long as we trade with you, and tax records for seven years because the law requires it. Enquiries that do not lead anywhere, and newsletter contacts who unsubscribe, are deleted or de-identified once we no longer need them.

10Dealing with us anonymously

You can browse the site without telling us who you are. We cannot answer a trade enquiry anonymously, because we need to know who to come back to.

11Getting a copy of your information, or fixing it

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything wrong, out of date or incomplete. Email privacy@ogaustralia.com.

We will ask you to confirm who you are, then come back to you within 30 days. There is no charge for making the request and no charge for a correction. If we have to refuse, we will put the reasons in writing and tell you how to complain about it. If we have already given the wrong information to someone else, we will let them know about the correction if you ask us to.

12Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first. Email privacy@ogaustralia.com with what happened and what you would like us to do about it.

We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and give you a written response within 30 days. If we need longer we will tell you why and agree a new date with you.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, or you do not hear back within 30 days, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

  • Online: the complaint form at oaic.gov.au
  • Phone: 1300 363 992
  • Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001

The Commissioner will usually expect you to have complained to us first and given us 30 days to respond.

13Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so rather than quietly reissue the page.
